Wils, Vol. 1, P. 90-91 Written: April 8, 1777 Recorded: February 1778 In The Name of God Amen I Thomas Forrester of the Province of North Carolina & County of Surry being Sick and weak of Body but of Perfect Senses and memory Blessed be God for the Same do make Constitute & Ordain this my Last Will & Testament (Viz) and first of All I give my Soul to him that Gave it me, and my Body to buried by Executors Hereafter named and as to the Worldly Goods wherewith it hath Pleased God to bless Me I give in the Manner & form Following. Item. I Give and Bequeath to my Dear Wife Milret The Plantation Whereon I Now live Together with all my Household Goods & Stock of all Kinds During Life. Item. I Give and Bequeath to my Son Hezekiah One Improvement Situate in the County of Surry Joining the Improvement of Thomas Dunagin on The East Side of the Arrarrat. Item. I Give and Bequeath to my Son James one Plantation Situate in the County of Surry Joining the Improvement of David Allen on the west Side of the Ararat. Item. At the Decease of my Wife Milret it is my Will & Pleasure That my Son John to be Possessd with my Mannor Plantation. Item. It is my will & Pleasure that my Son William have a Parcel of Woodland Ground above my Mannor Beginning at a Drean above my Mannor Fence and So on Each Side up Hogans Creek as far as a survey will Extend. Meers Charles Roland I Appoint my Dear Wife Miltret Executrex of this My Last Will & Testament North Carolina Surry County Feby Court 1778. Thomas Meers one of the subscribing Witnesses to the Within Last Will & Testament of Thomas Forrester Made Oath that He saw the said Thomas Forrester Publish and Declare the Same to be his last will & Testament that he was Sound Disposing mind and memory and that at the same time he saw Alex Hawkins & Charles Roland Sign the Same as Witnesses. And on Motion it was ordered to be Recorded. Recorded Accordingly by Jo Williams CC Additional Comments: Current research indicates that this is the Thomas Forrester who married Mildred Dogens in Virginia. His son John Dogens Forrester was a Revolutionary War veteran whose wife's Rev. War pension application and the marriage of his son Fielding place him in Surry Co. prior to 1790. John Dogens Forrester moved to Tennessee and died in Robertson Co. in 1815. Thomas' son James Forrester remained in Surry Co. and died there in 1837.
