I, Daniel Pilcher of the County of Surry and State of North Carolina, being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind that it is appointed unto man to die and after death to come to Judgement, I submite my Soul to God who gave it and my body to the Earth from whence it came to be buried at the will and directions of my friends, and as to my worldly goods which God hath blessed me with, my will and desire is to dispose of them in the manner following: First, I give unto my three sons, James Pilcher, William Pilcher, and Joseph Pilcher, all my land to be equally divided as to quality and quantity and values, and the division to be made so that James have where he now lives and William to have where he lives, and Joseph to have where I now live. Then I wish for and will to my daughter Pharebe Norman to have one years support for herself and all her children, also to my daughter Charity Pilcher to have one years support all to be and of the crops and stock now on hand. Then my will is that the balance of my personal estate be sold and equally divided between my three daughters, Mary Allgood, Pharebe Norman, and Charity Pilcher, the boys to pay over as much as will make the girls equal. But in case the Personal Property should excede in value the land, then the girls to pay over as much as will make the boys equal. My will is that my executor here after named collect what may be due me and pay all my just debts out of my personal Estate. I do hereby revoke all wills by me heretofore made and do hereby ratify this to be my last will and testament and I do hereby appoint Samuel Speer my whole and sole Executor of this my last will and in Testament whereof I have hereunto set my hand and offered my seal this 27th day of June, A. D., 1830. Signed, sealed and acknowledged in the presence of us. Daniel Pilcher (seal) his mark Reuben Rhodes Thomas Williams
