FRANCES ATHEA DILLS HOLLIFIELD 

MARION - Frances Athea Dills Hollifield, 74, died Friday, May 12, 2006 in 
Spruce Pine Community Hospital. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter 
of the late Jerry Alexander and Bertha Foster Dills, and wife of the late 
Charles Ray Hollifield Sr. She was a member of Hicks Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Ray Hollifield Jr. and Wayne Larry 
Hollifield, both of Marion, and Ken Roger Hollifield of Spruce Pine; one 
brother, Edward Dills of Freeport, FL; two sisters, Nellie Reel of Marion, and 
Irene Byrd of Black Mountain; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hicks Chapel Baptist Church. 
Dr. Tom Walker and Revs. Milton Hollifield and Chris Davis officiated. Burial 
was in Turkey Cove Cemetery. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. 
Saturday at Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion.
