Lords Proprietor Land Grant to William Downing – 13 December 1729

His Excellency John Ld. Carteret Palatine.  To all etc. Know yee I Give & 
Grant unto William Downing of Our Said County a Tract of Land Containing Six 
Hundred & Fifty Acres Lying in Tyrrel Prect. formerly Surveyed by Mr. Thos. 
Blount Called Cubbin Neck – beginning at a Pine Mr. Stepen Lees corner Pole on 
the North Side of the Deep Run & turning by a Line of Marked Trees E. 160 po. 
to the Center of a Gum a White Oak & a Maple then No. 71 Est. 336 po. to the 
Center of Two Red Oaks & a Beech in the Mill Pond Swamp thence Southerly the 
Various Courses of the Mill pond Swampt thence Southerly the Various Courses 
of the Mill pond Swamp & Beaver Dam Pucosan to a White Oak on the Pucosan Side 
thence by a Line of Marked Trees S: 29 W. 140 po. to a White Oak then W: 20: 
pole to a White Oak a Corner Tree of Kendricks Creek then Down the Various 
Courses of Kendrick Creek to the First Station. 

To have and to hold etc. Yielding & paying etc. provided etc. Given etc. ye 
13th December 1729.

This is William Downing’s second grant.  He also received one in 1719.
