ESTELLE DODGE GIBBS

SMITHFIELD – Mrs. Estelle Gibbs, 59, died Tuesday in Riverside Hospital, 
Newport News, after a long illness.
  A native of Tyrrell County, N.C., she was a daughter of Lloyd O. and Mrs. 
Edith Dodge.
  She was a grocery operator and a Methodist.
  Surviving are two sons, Jack Gibbs of Smithfield and Freddie Gibbs of 
Manquin; five sisters, Mrs. Mildred Tetterton and Mrs. Emma Drewry of 
Smithfield, Mrs. Thelma Graves of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Edna Pearl Edwards of 
South Norfolk, and Mrs. Florine Coley of Norfolk; a brother, W.I. Gibbs of 
Baltimore; and nine grandchildren.
  A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home 
by the Rev. Edward M. Garrett Jr. of Benn’s United Methodist Church. Burial 
will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk.
