First and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it. Nothing doubting but at the general resurrection to receive the same again and hoping thru the merits death and passion of my blessed savior Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon of all my sins and as for my body I leave to the earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned. And as for my worldly estate which it hath pleased God to bestow on me in this life I leave and dispose of it in manner and form following – Imprimis My will and desire is that my just debts and funerall expenses be satisfied and paid Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Blount one shilling sterling as a bar against any other part of my estate Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Blount one shilling sterling as a bar against any other part of my estate Item I give and bequeath unto my son Gershom Blount one shilling sterling as a bar against any other part of my estate Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Steeley one shilling sterling as a bar against any other part of my estate Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Swain one shilling sterling as a bar against any other part of my estate Item I give and bequeath unto my two youngest daughters Deborah Gray and Resina Blount all my household goods whatever, my stocks of cattle and hogs and every thing else whatever of my estate, real and personal, to them and their heirs for ever Lastly I constute nominate and appoint my trusty friend Henry Gray and Resina Blount my Executor and Executrix of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills by me heretofore made allowing this only to be my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and find my seal this 11th day of January 1764 Signed sealed published & pronounced } by the said John Blount as his } last will and testament in } John Blunt {seal} the presence of us } Fran Egleton Jeroboam (his x mark) Thomas Godfor (his x mark) Groay Tyrrel County In the Term of March Anno Dom. 1766 Personally appeared Jereboam Thomas a subscribing witness hereunto and made oath on the holy Evangilist of almighty God that he see and heard the within named John Blount sign publish pronounce and declare the within writing be and is his Last Will and Testament and that he was of sound mind & of disposing memory and that Godfree Gray signed as Witness at the same time. Test T__ Ward Additional Comments: Deborah Blount married Henry Gray 4 Jan 1760 in Tyrrell Co, NC. Henry is listed on the North Carolina Early Census index in Tyrrell Co in 1755 & 1771. The North Carolina Early Census Index lists Gersham Blount in Tyrrell Co in 1755 & 1771 (no township is listed). John Blount, Jr. died after 17 Dec 1790 in Robeson Co, NC (WB 1 pg 22). Godfrey Gray is found on the 1790 Tyrrell Co, NC census. His will was written in Tyrrell Co, NC 9 Mar 1792 & was witnessed by William Markey & John Gray and proven in the July term 1792.
