Maarbjerg In the name of God Amen. I Richard Davis of the County of Tyrrel in the State of North Carolina, being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memery (blessed be God) do this Twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty two, make and publish this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following that is to say First of all my will and desire is that all my just debts shall be well and truly paid out of my estate. I then give and bequeath to my son Willis Davis one dollar – to him and Heirs forever. I then give and bequeath to my dearly beloved daughter Sally ann Owins one Feather Bed and Firniture and one wuite of curins to her and her Heirs forever. I then give and bequeath to my dearly beloved daughter Elizabeth Brickhouse one dollar to her and her Heirs forever. I then give all the remaining part of my estate real and personal to be equally divided between my two dearly beloved Sons Thomas Davis and Richard Davis to them and their Heirs forever. I also ordain Nominate and appoint my two well beloved sons Thomas Davis and Richard Davis Executors to this my last will and Testament. I appoint Samuel Spruill Esq. and Jer H. Phelps to assist my Executors in settling my estate and be intitled to the emoluments that the law allowes executors arising from such Labor equally as much as if they had been appointed Executors. I acknowledge this to be my Last will and testament and no other.
