Margaret Bivens vs. Henry Bivens and others

Petition for Dower

In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that Robert 
Shepherd and wife, Sarah, defendants, reside beyond the limits of this State: 
It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six 
successive weeks in the Charlotte Journal notifying said defendant non-
resident to be and Appear at our next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be 
held for said County at the Court House at Charlotte on the 1st Monday in July 
next. 

Then and there to plead, answer or demur to this petition filed: Otherwise 
judgment will be taken pro confesso and the matter will be heard ex parte will 
be made as to them.
Witness Hugh Steward, Clerk of the said Court at office on the 1st Monday in 
April AD 1846.
