Susanna Sykes
vs.
Josh Sykes, Sharrad Sykes, Matthew Sykes, Jacob Sykes, Mary Bagget wife of 
Bennet Bagget, and Sarah Bagget widow of Stephen Bagget.

Petition for Dower

In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that Matthew 
Sykes, Jacob Sykes, Arthur Sykes, Mary Bagget wife of Bennet Bagget and Sarah 
Bagget wife of Stephen Bagget reside beyond the limits of this State: It is 
therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive 
weeks in the Charlotte Journal notifying said defendant non-resident to be and 
Appear at our next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for Union 
County at the Court House at Monroe on the 1st Monday in October next. 

Then and there to plead, answer or demur to the petition of Susannah Sykes 
filed: Otherwise judgment will be taken pro confesso will be entered up 
against them.
Witness Hugh Stewart, Clerk of the said Court at office on the 1st Monday in 
July AD 1847
