Thomas Polk Sr., Thomas Polk Jr., Ferebee Polk, Ezekial Polk, Polly Ann Polk, 
Elizabeth Jane Polk, petitioned by their next friend, Thomas Polk, Jr.
vs.
Peter Hagler and wife Peggy, John Hagler and Patsy Hagler and Betsy Caruker, 
of full age, James Hagler, Darling Hagler, and Beedy Hagler, infants, Benj. 
Shinn and William Blackman and wife Cassy, and also the heirs of Polly Stogner.

Petition to Sell Real Estate

In this case, Peter Hagler, William Blackman and wife Cassy, and Benjamin 
Shinn reside beyond the limits of this State: It is therefore ordered by the 
Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Charlotte 
Journal notifying said defendant non-resident to be and Appear at our next 
Court of Equity to be held for Union County at the Court House at Monroe on 
the 6th Monday after the 4th Monday in September next. 

Then and there to plead, answer or demur to this petition filed: Otherwise 
judgment will be taken pro confesso and the matter will be heard ex parte will 
be made as to them.
Witness C.M.T. McCauley, Clerk & Master of the said Court at office on the 2nd 
Monday in February AD 1847.
