W. SMITH, ELISHA SASSER and wife et al Petition for Dower In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that STEPHEN SMITH, JESSE BAUCOM, and wife, DORCAS, do not reside in this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the North Carolina Argus, a newspaper published in Wadesboro, notifying the said non-residents, defendants, to be and appear at our next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Union at the Court House in Monroe, on the first Monday in January next, then and there to plead, answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise, judgment will be taken pro confesso and the matter will be heard ex parte as to them. Witness J. F.
