    STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA   Union County  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS
    July Term 1851

    FERRABEE TURNER
        vs.
    JESSE M. TURNER, and others

    Petition for Dower

   It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant, JESSE M. 
TURNER, is not an inhabitant of the State, but resides beyond the limits of 
the State: It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for 
six successive weeks in the N. C. "Argus," notifying the said defendant to be 
and appear at the next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the 
County of Union in Monroe, on the 1st Monday in October next then and there to 
plead answer or demur to the said petition or the same will be taken pro 
confesso and treated ex parte to him and judgment will be rendered accordingly.
   Witness J. M. STEWART, Clerk of our said Court in Monroe, the first Monday 
in July A. D. 1851 and on the 76th (sic)  year of American Independence.
