However, it is presented as it appears. This is hand-written and subject to perhaps some variation in the proper spelling of names.) JOHN O. WATKINS & wife, deed to JOHN ELLIOTT M. C. JORDAN and EASTER JORDAN his wife appeared in open court and personally acknowledged the due execution of a deed for land in Union County to JOHN ELLIOTT bearing date the 3rd October 1860 and whereupon D. RUSHING, Esq. a member of the Court is appointed to take the necessary examination of the said EASTER JORDAN separate and apart from her said husband touching her consent in the execution of said deed of conveyance reports to the Court that she acknowledged before him when examined that she had executed the said deed freely of her own will and accord and without any force, fear or any undue influences of her said husband or any other person and did state voluntary assent thereto all of which on motion is ordered to be recorded It is further ordered that the deed itself together with the record of these proceedings be Registered. ELLEN SHIRLY ET AL Power of Atty To W.W. CUTHBERTSON A certain power of attorney from ELLEN SHIRLY, WILEY B. SHIRLEY et al of the state of Alabama & County of Tuscaloosa to MOSES W. CUTHBERTSON of the County of Union and State of North Carolina bearing date the 26th May 1855 was exhibited in open court & it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the execution of the same; had been of order in the conformity with the law of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court the power of attorney together with the accompanying certificate thereto be Registered & also the record of this proceeding. H.P. LITLE, et al Deed to CHURCHWELL SOUTHARP A certain deed bearing date the 27 Febry 1857 From EDMUND LITLE, H.P. LITLE, WILLIAM LITLE, ALFRED BAUCOM & wife NANCY, JAMES A DUNN, wife ELIZABETH & JOHN LITTLE to CHURCHWELL SOUTHARP was produced in open court & the due executor thereof acknowledged by ALFRED BAUCOM & wife NANCY & JAMES A. DUNN & wife ELIZABETH S. & proven by the oath & examination of SOL B. MARSH as to EDMUND LITLE, H.P. LITLE, WILLIAM LITLE & JOHN LITLE whereupon D. RUSHING a member of the Court is appointed by the Court to take from examination of the said NANCY BAUCOM wife of ALFRED BAUCOM & of ELIZABETH S. DUNN, wife of the said JAMES A. DUNN and the said D. RUSHING after having examined the said femmes separate and apart from their said husbands reports to the Court that they were examined by him that touching their free and voluntary consent in the Execution of the said deed of conveyance reports that they acknowledged before him when so examined that they had Executed the said deed freely and of their own accord without any force fear coercion or under influence on the part of their said husbands or any other person and that they did state voluntarily assent thereto, all of which is on motion in order to record it. Further ordered that the record of these proceedings together with the deed be registered.
