Feb. 2, 1844           Charlotte Journal February 2, 1844
   UNION COUNTY -- At the Term of Union County Court held on the 1st Monday in 
January, the following Magistrates were elected to compose the Special Court 
for the Year 1844, MARCUS D. AUSTIN, ARCHIBALD LANEY, E. PRESSLEY, THOMAS C. 
WILSON and WILLIAM H. SIMPSON, ESQS.
   County Trustee -- SILAS P. STEWART
   Coroner -- WILLIAM SIMPSON
   ALEXANDER W. RICHARDSON, ESQ. was elected Sheriff in place of WILLIAM 
WILSON, deceased, to hold until August next, when an election will be made by 
the people.
