   DEATH BY LIGHTNING
   We understand that JACKSON GODFREY aged about nineteen, son of JAMES 
GODFREY of Union County, was killed by lightning on the 22nd inst. He was 
passing between the house and the kitchen when he stooped to pick up a bridle 
lying  with a steel bit lying in the year, when he was struck on the back of 
the neck by the electric fluid and immediately killed. It is supposed the bit 
attracted the fluid.
