Thurs. April 4, 1861  North Carolina Argus
   DIED, in Union County, on the 12th of March, GRANNY SULA, a slave, the 
property of MRS. JANE GAITHINGS, 110 years of age.
   GRANNY SULA said she was a grown woman in the Revolutionary War, and had 
three children when Independence was declared. She enjoyed remarkable good 
health and retained the faculties of her mind up to the time of her death. Her 
conversation was interesting and instructive. She was a consistent member of 
the Baptist Church.
