Charlotte was the Gretna Green last night for a young couple from Monroe. Miss 
Pantia Griffin and Mr. R.J. Fletcher were the parties most interested. Miss 
Griffin had been here for several weeks visiting her sister, Mrs. D.M. Austin. 
Mr. Fletcher came up yesterday afternoon. Mr. Austin and wife went to the 
recital, leaving their sister at home. As soon as they were safely out of the 
way, Mr. Fletcher called, got his bride soon-to-be, her trunk, &c, and to Dr. 
Creasy's they went. Soon they were "no longer twain but one." The first thing 
Mr. Fletcher did after having left his bride at the Buford, was to call and 
subscribe for the Observer. Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher left last night for Monroe.
