Item I will and bequeath unto the children of my daughter POLLY HELMS, deceased that is to say TARZA SECREST, ELIZA SECREST, TABITHA HONEYCUTT, NANCY BROWN, COLEMAN D HELMS and AMBROSE HELMS in addition to what I have already heretofore given them, the following negroes to wit: Dick and young Maria. Item In consideration of the age, misfortunes and destitute circumstances of my brother WILLIAM DOSTER I will and bequeath unto him a negro man by name ?Ransome? to have and to hold during his natural life and at the death of my said brother I will said negro to my grandson JAMES BELK Item I will and bequeath unto my grandson JAMES BELK a negro ?William? byname -- a slave. Item I will and bequeath unto my daughter HANNAH BELK two old and infirm negroes that is to say Old Maria and Old Solomon to be taken care of an supported by my said daughter HANNAH BELK the object of this legacy being to provide for the support and maintenance of said aged slaves Old Maria and Old Solomon. Item In consideration of her being chargeable with the support of the aged slaves Maria and Solomon and for other good consideration ______ moving thereunto I will and bequeath unto my daughter HANNAH BELK the following slaves to wit Lena, Oma and Buck. Item I further will and devise to my daughter HANNAH BELK the tract of land whereon I now live, adjoining the lands of _____, Henry, Moses, Sampson D. Belk ________ containing Four Hundred acares or there abouts to have and to hold the same to her and her heirs. Item In consideration of my having given my other grandsons a tract of land each, I will and devise to my grandson GEORGE W L BELK a tract of land adjoining the lands of Jonathan Broome, Coleman D Helms ______ containing one hudnred and fifty acares more or less to have and to hold the same to him and his heirs, he having not heretofore received any _____ from me while I have given by deed of Gift a tract of land to each of my other grandsons. Item To the ______ that the title thereof may be the more effectually secured to him as it is _____ that thereis to be an attempt to devest him of the title an possession of the same, I will and bequeath unto my grandson GEORGE WL BELK a slave by the name of Lila and her child, both of which I have heretofore by deed of Gift given him. Item To the same and (sic) with the same intent and for the same reason I will and bequeath unto my granddaughter POLLY BELK a slave Catherine by name now in her possession which I have heretofore by deed of Gift given to her. Item To the same and and (sic) with the same intent and for the same reason, I will and bequeath unto my granddaughter NANCY BELK a slave ?Lucy by name and her child which I have heretofore and by deed of gift given to her. Item Likewise to the same and and (sic) with the same intent and for the same reason, I will and bequeath unto my granddaughter HANNAH BELK a slave Sarah or Sally by name heretofore by deed of Gift given by me to her.
