Maria Faulkner, a daughter of the late Howard Vernard Faulkner Sr. and Bessie E. 
Faulkner, was well-known and greatly appreciated for her genealogical research,
particularly of the many Faulkner lines of Vance, Warren, Franklin and surrounding
counties. Additionally, she published an inventory of the New Sandy Creek Baptist 
Church Cemetery in which she is was laid to rest. Maria's kindness and expertise 
are sorely missed by the genealogical community as well as by her personal friends 
and family members.

HENDERSON - Maria Parham Faulkner, age 83, a resident of 921 Faulkner
Town Road, died Monday, August 3, 2009, in Cherokee, N.C. 

Miss Faulkner was a retired nurse anesthetist in Greensboro where she worked
for four years and at Newman Hospital in Newman, Ga. for 38 years. She was a 
member of First Baptist Church in Newman, Ga., and was a member of New Sandy 
Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at New Sandy Creek Baptist 
Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by one brother, Jerry A. Faulkner.

Memorials may be made to the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 
1699 Weldon's Mill Road, Henderson, N.C. 27537.
