EDITH ABBITT ROSE

   HENDERSON, N.C. – Mrs. Edith Abbitt Rose, 68, died Saturday, July 21, at her 
home, 141 Jennette Avenue.

   She was the wife of the late John D. Rose of Henderson, N.C. and the daughter 
of the late Martha Beale and John D. Abbitt, Sr.

   Survivors are two step-sons, John D. Rose, Jr., of Henderson, N.C., and 
George A. Rose, III, of Charleston, W. Va., one step-daughter, Mrs. Thomas C. 
Parham of Oxford, N.C., her step-mother, Mrs. John D. Abbitt, Sr., of Franklin, 
two half-brothers, John D. Abbitt, Jr., of Franklin, and William H. Abbitt of 
Richmond; one half-sister, Mrs. Francis H. Kales of York, Penn.

   Mrs. Rose was a member of the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church where funeral 
services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial was held in the Elmwood Cemetery 
with Rev. Harris Thomas and Dr. E. Norfleet Gardner officiating.
