Born July 18, 1880, at Raleigh, NC.
Educated in day school, private school and university.
Entered railway service 1898 as correspondence clerk in division freight 
office Southern Ry, since which he as been consequently Jan. 1901 to 1902, 
chief clerk in commercial office;
1902 to 1905, rate clerk in office of assistant freight traffic manager;
1905 to 1906, chief clerk to assistant general freight agent;
1906 to 1910, chief clerk to assistant freight traffic manager same road;
1910 to May 15, 1912, chief clerk to vice president same road, Cincinnati, New 
Orleans & Texas Pacific Ry, and Alabama Great Southern Rd, at Cincinnati;
May 15, 1912 to date, assistant general freight agent Cincinnati New Orleans & 
Texas Pacific Ry.
