Wake County, NC - Hinton Cemetery ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hinton Cemetery *0 Knightdale Blvd. Knightdale, Wake Co.,NC 20 Apr 2006 N 35° 47' 42.3" W 78°32' 06" Located on Hwy # 64 East (New Bern Ave.) on the south side of the road immediately after crossing the Neuse River from the west into Knightdale, this abandoned cemetery is slated to be disinterred and the remains reinterred in Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh, NC. The small cluster of graves is located on a 20.88 acre parcel owned by Parkway Properties Group LLC, and zoned "Heavy Commercial". (* Wake Co. Real Estate Records gives 0 Knightdale Blvd. as the address, but it is more familiarly known as Hwy. # 64 east.) I walked the cemetery and recorded what was readable. It is in very poor shape and has been partially excavated in preparation for the planned move. There are 10 graves, of which 5 headstones were partially readable. Hinton, Mary, b.
