Location: In the middle of a field behind the antebellum Hood-Anderson
farmhouse on Old Battle Bridge Rd. east of its intersection with Eagle
Rock Rd. The cemetery is on the north side of Old Battle Bridge Rd. and
is visible from the road.

    Masonic Emblem.

 2. ELLIS, Mary L., b. January 22, 1818, d. March 10, 1848. Wife of W.H. Hood.

 3. WIGGINS, Mary Ann, b. August 28, 1827, d. March 9, 1882. Wife of W.H. Hood.

 4. HOOD, Wiley Ruffin, b. December 15, 1845, d. January 7, 1910.

 5. HINNANT, Sarah J., b. December 20, 1847, d. April 11, 1902. Wife of Wiley 
    Ruffin Hood.

 6. HOOD, Mary E., b. October 15, 1869, d. May 18, 1908. Daughter of WR and SJ Hood.

 7. HOOD, Gertrude M., b. August 11, 1871, d. August 11, 1893. Daughter of WR and 
    SJ Hood.

19. HOOD, John Calvin, b. July 24, 1862, d. November 2, 1918.

20. RICHARDSON, Ella W., b. March 31, 1886. d. June 12, 1910. Wife of Jesse Lawrence 
    Anderson.

21. INFANT DAUGHTER of J.L. and Ella W. Anderson, b. & d. May 28, 1910.

22. MARSHAL, Ella Mae Anderson, b. September 2, 1914, d. March 10, 1983. Daughter of 
    J.L. Anderson and Pearl McCullers.

NOTES: 
Six unmarked children's graves with rectangular markers are clustered around James A. 
Hood and Verona E. Hood. 

Two child-sized graves marked with rough fieldstones lie near John Calvin Hood. 

Two adult-sized graves marked with rough fieldstones lie near Mary L. Ellis and William 
H. Hood. 

One other child of Samuel P. Anderson and Laura Ella Hood, Samuel Tilden Anderson 
(24 Nov. 1877 - 28 Jun. 1947), was originally buried in the Hood-Anderson Cemetery 
along with his first wife, Julia Blanche Richardson (7 Dec. 1881-10 May 1910), and son,
Julian Whitley Anderson (18 Feb. 1910 - 10 Jul. 1910), but all three were moved in 
the 1980s to Rocky Mount where Tilden's second wife, Cecelia Rowe, was buried.
