Powell - Stephens Graveyard

The Powell-Stephens graveyard is located at the corner of Piney Grove-Wilbon 
Road (SR 1101) and Knightwood Road in Southwestern Wake County about three 
miles west of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.

The GEO position is: 35 dgr 35.012' N and 78 dgr 50.505' W.

Grave 2. Fieldstone head and foot..no identification

Grave 3. Tall granite stone marker: one side: Alford Powell..Born June 20 1835 
Died Dec 15 1924 other side: Casanda, wife of Alford Powell..Born Aug 8 1844 
Died Aug 4 1924. Two small foot stones, one marked "A P"and the other  marked "C P"

Grave 4. Small stone marker: Eddie, Son of Alford & Casanda Powell Born Mar 11 1871 
Died Dec 15 1875.  One small foot stone marked "E P"

Grave 5. Small stone marker: A. C. Stephens Born Oct 29 1890 Died Aug 15 1895 Small 
foot stone ... fieldstone with no markings

Grave 6. Large, tall stone marker: Lovey, wife of Fred Stephens Born Aug 8 1874 
Died Feb 6 1937

Small foot stone marked "L S"

Grave 7. Small stone marker: E. B. Stephens Born Nov 14 1893 Died Jun 13 1904.  Small 
foot stone marked "E B S"

Grave 8. Fieldstone head and foot ..... no identification

Grave 9. Fieldstone head and foot ..... no identification

This graveyard is, at the present, maintained by Larry Garner who lives in the 
house adjacent to the site.
