From the intersection of Poole Rd., and Hwy. 440, Raleigh,: Go 2/10 mi. east on Poole Rd. to the traffic light at Carya Dr., which is the entrance to Wake County Office Park Complex. Go 3/10 mi. on Carya Dr., following the signs to "Historic Oakview". Park near the museum and walk 1/10 mi. to the Cotton Gin House. The cemetery is beside the building. Coordinates: N 35°46'14" W 078°34'23" I visited the cemetery and transcribed from the monument and tombstones. This small family cemetery is part of the restored "Oakview" which technically is not a plantation, but comes pretty close. Originally it was the home of the Williams family (built in 1855) and later home to a number of prominent Wake County families. Only Benton and Burchett Williams have markers on their graves. There are several small tablets marked "grave", with no names. In the front of the cemetery is a monument with six names, see below. There is ample parking. This is worth a visit.
