All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Shank Carolynshank@msn.com November 18, 2008, 8:45 am Source: Raleigh Minerva Written: 1816 May 31, 1816 COURT DECREED SALE On Monday, the 1st day of July next, during the Supreme Court, will be sold to the highest bidder, the premises at the City of Raleigh, for cash, in conformity to a decree made by the honorable, the Superior Court of Equity, held for Wake County April 1816, wherein JOHN STANLY is complainant and LEWIS NICHOLSON, defendant, the following lots lying in said city, by the Clerk and Master in said Court, after due advertisement, to wit: "a Lot of land, number 253 and parts of Lots number 236 and 252 in the plan of the City of Raleigh, and bounded as follows: -- beginning on Lane Street two chains and seventeen links west of the northeast corner of lot number 252, and running south nine chains and thirty-five links to a stake, then west two chains and forty-one links, then south, three chains and two links to the corner of lot number 237, then north with said lot to the corner of lot number 253, then west to Person street, then north with said street to Lane Street, then with said street to the beginning."
