Bk FPG, page 54 Barnes to Rochelle This Indenture made the first day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Three by and between Burwell BARNES of Wake County and State of North Carolina of the one part and John ROCHELLE of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Burell BARNES for and in Consideration of the sum of Three Hundred pounds Specie to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and himself fully Satisfied hath given Granted bargained Sold ----- released made oer and confirmed and by their presents doth give grant bargain sell --- release make over and confirm unto him the said John ROCHELLE his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Wake on both sides of Upper Barton Creek containing by Estimation two hundred acres more or less and bounded as follows Beginning at a stake in James Jones, dec’d line thence East eighty poles to a red oak thence South one hundred and fifty pole to a pine thence along an agreed line of marked trees West to a red oak an agreed corner between sd. BARNES and said John ROCHELLE thence by an agreed line to a Corner on said Bartons Creek thence West the meander of said Creek to a Sasifras at the Mouth of the dividing Branch between said Burell BARNES and said John ROCHELLE thence up the meanders of said Branch to a Maple in said branch in said GRADYS line thence with the said line East to a Spanish Oak in said JONES line thence along said line to the first Station it being part of a tract of land granted by the State of North Carolina to the said Burell BARNES Witness’d Richard CASWELL Esq’r Governor Recourse being had to the Grant will or are fully appear to have and to hold the lands and premises hereby granted and every part and parcel thereof with the revertion and revertions ---- --- and -- --- and all and singular the appurton? and thereunto belonging or appertaining unto him the said John Rochelle his Heirs and Assigns forever and the said Burrell BARNES doth covenant and agree for himself his Heirs and Asigns -- to and with the said John ROCHELL his Heirs and Assigns that he will Forever Warrant and Defend the before Granted and lands and premises Together with all ---- under woods and appurtenances thereunto belonging from the Claim of any person or persons Whatsoever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John ROCHELL his Heirs and Assigns forever In Testimony wheeof the siad Burrell BARNES hath here unto set his hand and affixed his Seal the day and State above written.
