GRANTEE

This Indenture made the 29th of March one thousand Eight Hundred and thirty four 
between James Brown, Sen. of the County of Wake and State of North Carolina of the 
one part and James Brown, Jun. of the County & State aforesaid of the other part.  
Witnesseth that the Said James Brown, Sr. for and in consideration Sundry good 
causes  & being my love I give to him the tract of land on which he now lives 
containing one hundred & Seven acres & 3/4 as follows Joining the Land of of the 
said James Brown Sr.on the waters of Lick Creek begining at a pine Near the head 
of the Earth Quake Branch John Q. Shaws Corner  then a  on East Corner with James 
Brown, Sen. line 216 pole to a pine John Shipps Corner thence with Said Shipps 
line No72 poles Red Oak on the ___________ then u the various Courses of Said              
48 poles to a pine thence by a line of marked threes N.70o West 30 poles to  pine 
near the head of a corner John Shaws Cornor then with his line N.80o West 26 poles 
to a pine near the head of another ___________ thence down Said drain on Hollow 39 
poles to a percimmon Tree on the East Side of Said Earth Quake Branch thence u the 
various ______ of said branch to the Beginning Containing by measurement one 
hundred & Seven & one forth acres by the same more or less to have & to hold the 
above described land with all the wood ______ water __________ and with all the 
appertances there on or belonging or in any wise appertaining to Said premises 
with all __________ & profits with all Rights __________ Clamims property or            
watsoever which the Said James Brown, Sen. has to Said _________ into the Said 
James Brown, Jun. his heirs & assigns forever and the Said James Brown, Senr. for 
himself his heirs and assigns to the aforesaid land & premises & every part 
thereof against himself his heirs and assigns ________ All claims or claims of all 
persons whatsoever will warrant and defend the Right of Said land unto James 
Brown, Jr. his heirs and assigns forever by these resents In witness whereof the 
Said James Brown, Sen. hath here unto Set his hand and affixed his Seal the day 
and year above written.
