C. Book 9 pages 467-468 Henry Byrum to Stephen Lowe Wm. Vick Trustee This Indenture made and indented this 1st of February in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight hundred & thirty One Between Henry Byrum of the County of Wake and State of North Carolina, of the one part, and James Lowe and William Vick of the County & State of aforesaid of the other part witness that whereas the said Henry Byrum stands justly indebted to Stephen Lowe of the county & state aforesaid, state aforesaid in the just Sum of Two hundred and Twenty five dollars, and being missed and desirous, to ___ to secure the payment thereof and such Interest as may accrue. Therein, he the said Henry Byrum, for and in consideration of his being indebted, for further sum of Fifty Cents, to him in hand paid by the said Stephen Low before the sealing and delivering of these _____. That Receipt whereof is thereby acknowledged hat given granted bargained sold and by these presents give grant bargain sell, to the said Stephen Low his heirs & assigns forever a certain parcel or tract of land being in the county of Wake and state aforesaid, containing One hundred and Six acres bounded by the lands of James Lowe, Willis Brown, Ruben Evans, and others, lying on the waters of Boyer Creek. To have and to hold, the above named lands, to him the said Stephen Low, heirs and assigns forever, upon ___ nevertheless that the said Stephen Low, heirs Executors, Adms., sell and dispose of to the highest bidder at public sale for ___ money the said Tract of land to pay and satisfy the said James Lowe and William Vick, their heirs forever, the aforesaid sum of two hundred twenty five dollars, with interest that may accrue, thereon __ paid, and cost, and ___ charges, upon the Executors of the Trust hereby created the said Henry Byrum for his self, his heirs and assigns doth ___ and agree and assign that he hath, at the time of Execution here of a good and in defensible __ title in and to the said land, and that he will further t__ to issue and at all time wherein __ to Required by the said Stephen Low, his heirs Execs. Administrators or assigns, make and Execute such other, and further deed or conveyance to the afore named land as may be deemed keeping to the fulfilling the object of this deed testimony of all which, they the said Henry Byrum and Stephen Low have hereunto set their hands and seals this day year first having witness signed and in the presents of John Motley & Benj.
