Carolina of the one part and Edward Cooley of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Willis Ray for and in consideration of the Sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge himself contented and paid he hath granted bargained & confirmed unto the said Edward Cooley his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid & Bounded as follows. Beginning at a at a Sweet Gum & Oak thence Eighty Two and one half degrees West 220 poles to a sassafras & Sweet Gum thence North fifteen degrees West to the Creek below the holly Island. thence up the Creek to an ash ______corner thence East along James M. Mangum fence an agreed line into the old line runing to a corner pine & red oak, Thence South to a post oak an agreed corner thence West an agreed line to a hickory corner in the old line, thence South 70 degrees West to the Beginning containing by measurement one hundred & twenty Eight 1/2 acres be the same more of less together with all building improvement & appurtenances unto the said premisess belonging or any wise appertaining & I the said Willis Ray for myself my heirs Executors administrators do warrant the said land & premises free and clear from all manner of Incumberances whatever against the lawful claim or claims of any person or person whomsoever unto the said Edward Cooley, his hjeirs and assigns in witness whereof.
