GRANTOR EDWARD COOLEY, GRANTEE This Indenture made this 10th of Dec. in the year of Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty one. Between Philip Adams, Jun. of the County of Wake & State of N. Carolina opf the one part, & Edward Cooley of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Philip Adams for and in consideration of the Sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid the Receipt of which he doth acknowledge, himself fully satisfied and paid he hath granted, Bargained Sold & comfirmed unto the said Edward Cooley his heirs & assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the No. Side of Neuse River and Bounded as follows: (Viz, Beginning at the mouth of a ___ on Neuse River a bind thence No. 72 East, 197 poles to a small pine thence No. 50 Et. along John Ray's line, to a post oak. Willis Ray's Corner, thence West. along Willis Rays line 220 poles to a Sassafras & sweet gum to Ray's other corner, thence So. Et. along a line of marked trees to the Beginning, containing one hundred and twenty five acres more or less. To have & to hold unto the S. Edward Cooley with all its appurtances thereunto belonging free from the claim or claims of any person or persons. whatsoever unto the said Edward Cooley his heirs and assigns forever and the said Philip Adams, doth for himself his heirs thus warrant and forever defend the Rights & hath of the aforesaid land and premises free from the lawful claims or of any Personor persons, whatsoever. unto Edwd.
