Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds specie to him in hand paid the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge myself fully and entiely satisfyed continted and paid have bargained sold and confirmed and conveyed unto the said William Hocut his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcell of Land and plantation ying and Being in the County of Wake partly and a small corner in the County of Johnston and altogether lying in the N side of Buffellow creek begining at a pine in John Wooten's line thence along East to the back line thence North to a BlackJack hence West along the line to the Creek then keeping the said creek to the first Station in ___ Wootens it being part of a parcel of land conveyed from Lodowick Alford to Edward Hocut and now conveyed from Edward Hocut to William Hocut, his brother, which by estimation is one hundred acres more or less together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said land and does promise and engage himself his heirs and Executors and assigns and . . . that he hath in himself good right and full Power and lawfull authority to give grant Execute and forever confirm unto the said William Hocut his heirs and assigns . . . the said Edward Hocut for myself my heirs and every of them from Making any other instruments of writing or deed avoiding in the law for the sure making the title of the said land and promises to be free and clear from all encumbrances whatsoever.
