Hunter to J. Ren This Indenture made this eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand seven Hundred and ninety nine. Between Isaac Hunter Jr. of the State of North Carolina and County of Wake of the one part, and John Ren of said State and County of the other. Witnesseth that I the said Isaac Hunter for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred fifty silver dollars to me in hand paid the receipt where of I do hereby acknowledge and by these presents doth bargain grant sell and convey unto John Rin [?] his Heirs and Assigns forever One certain Tract or parcel of Land being in the County and State aforesaid lying on the Waters of Houses Creek between [?] and bounded as follows, to wit, beginning at a Sassafras Stake on dividing Corner, thence East One Hundred & thirty two pole to a hickory William Shaws [?] corner thence South with said Shaws [?] line Three Hundred & twenty pole to a White Oak near the dry pond, thence West one Hundred & thirty two pole to a black Jack Peter Casso s corner thence North Three Hundred & twenty pole to the beginning, Containing two Hundred and Sixty four acres, it being part of a Tract of Land granted by the State to Joel Lane Esq. and by him Willed to his son James Lane & then sold by Execution and same being had to grant with & Execution with from now fully affirm, with all and singular the rights heriditaments [?] and appurtinances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining. To have and to hold the said Land to the only proper use & benefit of him said John Ren his Heirs and Assigns forever, and this said Isaac Hunter his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns doth Covenant and agree that the said John Ren his Heirs and Assigns may forever enjoy said Land with the appurtinances and I the said Isaac Hunter doth by these presents for myself my Heirs and Assigns warrant & forever defend the right & title of said land and promises unto John Ren his heirs &c [?] In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day & date above written Signed Sealed & Delivered In the presence of Isaac Hunter {Seal} Edward Pride Jn.
