PARHAM, GRANTOR LEWIS J. PARKHAM, GRANTEE This Indenture made this Thirtieth day of July One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty six Between Lewis J. Parham of the county of Wake State of N.CArolina on the one part & Avera Parham of the same county & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Avera Parham for and in consideration of the Sum of Five Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Lewis J. Parham at or before the Ensealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he doth hererby acknowledge himself fully satisfied contented and paid. Hatha given Granted Bargained & Sold and by these presents doth absolutely Bargain and sell and confirm unto the said Lewis J. Parham his heris and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county & State aforesaid on the South side of Neuse River and on both side of Crooked Creek and bounded as follows. Beginiing at a Dogwood a New Corner in Edward A. Parham & mark Grady's line to a small red Oak, thence east to the head of Crooked Creek thence down the said Creek to the forks. Thence East crossing the creek 6 pole to a white oak in William Ships & Joel Cooley line. Thence by a line of marked trees N. 24 Pole to a white oak on the East side of said Crooked Creek. Thence down the Creek 24 pol to a _______ on the N. side of said Creek. Thence a N. Course 74 pole to a Spanish Oak in Robert Lennon's line. Thense west 56 pole to Oak. Edward A. Parham Corner. Thence South 74 pole to a white oak on the spring Branch. Thence up the said branch to the head. thence along a line of Marked trees to the Beginning. containing by estimation one hundred and thirty Nine acres more or less. To have to hold, the said Bargained Promises unto the the said Lewis J. Parham his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns forever. together with all Houses and thereunto belonging or in any wise and the said Avera Parham doth agree for himself his heirs & that the said Lewis J. Parham, his heirs & whatsoever and the said Avery Parham do agree that the said Land and premises is and defend the same against the Lawful claim & all persons whomsoever.
