Witnesseth that the S. Thomas Jones for and in Consideration of the sum of five Hundred & _____ dollars to him in hand paid by Avery Parham at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt Whereof the S. Thomas Jones doth hereby Acknowledge himself Satisfied Contented and paid hath given Granted & Bargained & Sold and by these presents doth Absolutely Bargain and Sell Ensealled and Confirm Unto the said Avery Parham his Heirs & forever unto the S. Avery Parham, his hiers Exec. & Administrators a certain Tract or Parcel of land Situate Lying and being the the County aforesaid on the N. Side of Neuce River and on both sides of Crooked Creek and Bounded as follows (Viz.) Begining at a pine Running thence South 5o East 17 poles to a poplar thence South ten degrees East Seventeen poles thence South 25 East Twenty Poles. Thence South Forty Degrees East Forty poles thence South Twenty five degrees East Seventeen Poles to a Beach thence East Twenty Six pole thence North Eighty on Degrees E. Sixty Poles thence N. Eight five degrees East Thirty four poles to a pine in a line thence with S. line North One Hundred & twenty Nine pole to a corner to a Oake thence West One Hundred and Eighty one pole to the Begining. Containing One Hundred forty five Acres more of less. It being the tract of Land the said Thomas Jones purchase of James Dial. To have and to hold the said Bargained premises unto the said Avery Parham his heirs Executors & Administrators & assigns forever. Together with all Houses, Building, Orchards & the appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. And the said Thomas Jones doth further agree for himself his heirs Executors & admn. that the S. Avery Parham his heirs & mary ever thereafter have use Occupy & possess & enjoy the same without any or Henderance Whatever and the S. Thomas Jones doth Covenant and agree to an with the S. Avery Parham that the S. land is free and discharged from all manner of encumberance Whatever & that he will forever Warrant and Defend the same against the claim, right & title & Interest of all persons whatsoever.
