Reeves to James Holloway Deed Book 15, Pg 156 This Indenture made and indented this 10th day of December 1840 by and between Martha Reaves (sic Reeves) of the County of Wake and State of North (sic North Carolina) of the one part and James Holloway of the County of and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Dollars to me in hand paid by James Holloway the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I have bargained sold and by force of these presents doth bargain sell and confirm unto him the said James Holloway his heirs and assigns all the interest Claim and title that I hold in and to all that tract of land which John Reaves (sic Reeves) died Seized and possessed of lying and being in the County of Wake aforesaid adjoining the land of the said James Holloway and others and all the interest title and claim that I have in land to the tract of land that Major Holloway died seized and possessed of Situated lying and being in the County, County and State aforesaid Elobey Creek adjoining the creek of land that the said John Reaves (Reeves) died Seized and possessed of and others. To have and to hold the above described Claims and Int in and to Said tracts of land free and clear clear (sic?) of and from the lawful Claim or Claims of all persons whatsoever and I further for my self my heirs & I Covenant and agree to and with the said James Holloway his heirs etc that I will forever warrant and Defend To him and them the true and Verified right and title in and to said tracts of land free and clear of and from any incumbrances whatsoever.
