Mark Myatt Jacob Utley Surveyor: John Humphries" Transcription: (Division of land) State of N Carolina Wake County 19th of Dec. 75(?) in obedience to an order of Wake County we have proceeded to divide the lands of WILLIAM ROWLAND deceasd between his three sons viz NATHAN, JOHN and WILLIAM in the following manner as is set forth on map hereunto marking doth appear To wit, that part of the track on which A Stands marked No.1 Beginning at a branch Turner Smiths Corner on Terrible Creek running thence south 461 pole to a black oak thence west 106 pole to a post oak. Thence by a line of marked trees. No 1degree east 320 pole to a large poplar on a branch thence down said branch to an other branch hence down the same to its junction with the creek thence down the creek to the beginning containing by estimation 214 acres more or less. We assign to NATHAN ROWLAND, his heirs and assigns forever. Secondly, that part of the track on which B stands marked No. 2. Beginning at a large poplar corner of No. 1 thence by the line of marked trees south 1 degree west 320 pole to a post oak thence west 110 pole to pointers, thence by an other line of marked trees No 10 degrees east to a small poplar on a branch, thence down the various courses of the same to its junction with the branch on which the first corner poplar stands, thence up the various courses thereof to the beginning, containing by estimation 320 acres more or less, we give to JOHN ROWLAND, his heirs and assigns forever. Thirdly, and lastly, that part of the track on which C stands marked No. 3. Beginning at a small corner poplar on the branch by the (pines?) thence by a dividing line of marked trees So 10 degrees W 244 pole to (points?) thence to 220 poles to a finale red oak. Thence No 101 pole to a red Oak, thence E. 76 pole to a black jack. Thence No 100 pole to a small black jack. Thence E. to a small dividing branch thence down the same to where the old line (crops?) thence along the same to the Creek thence down said Creek to the Mouth of the dividing branches thence up the branch to the first station small poplar, containing by estimation 446 acres more or less. We assign to the youngest son WILLIAM ROWLAND, his heirs & Further be it remembered that the widdow of the said deceased has her part of dower in her young son Wm division And be it remembered that JACOB ROWLAND a son of the deceased had recieved his lands of his grandfather and did not claim one part of the lands of the said deceased. Also be it remembered that a tract of land containing 91 acres granted to the said deceased by the state aforesaid joining the lands that the said deceased had deeded to his son LEWIS ROWLAND before his death. We assign to the said LEWIS and his heirs and assigns forever. All of which is submitted by us as witnesses our hand (?) W.
