Gulley The Standard of Raleigh, July 9, 1862 DEATH OF CAPTAIN WILLIAM B. GULLEY The remains of CAPTAIN WILLIAM B. GULLEY, who fell in the battle of Tuesday, the 1st inst., were brought to this City on Saturday last and buried with military honors. CAPTAIN GULLEY was a native of this County, a Printer by trade, and volunteered at an early day as a private. He was elected First Lieutenant, and afterwards Captain of Company C of the 24th North Carolina Regiment. He was highly esteemed by the Company, as he was by his friends generally. He died as a true soldier dies, at the head of his command, with his face to the foe.
