Nathan Snead The Standard of Raleigh, 10 Dec., 1862 Few among the many gallant spirits who have fallen while battling on foeman's ground, are more worthy of a friend's last tribute, over an untombed grave, than NATHAN SNEAD, of the 20th North Carolina Regiment, who was killed at the Battle of Sharpsburg, Md., on the 17th of September in the 22nd year of his age. At the commencement of hostilities this noble young soldier was a student at college. May his bereaved fammily not grieve for him. He died a noble patriot, and now lives in grateful remembrance, and speaks from his soldier's grave for our emulation and encouragement.
