Aug. 27, 1801 August 27, 1801 The President of the United States, by an Ordinance which he passed on the 29th of July, abolished the Office of Inspector of Survey throughout the District of North Carolina; and has declared that the Duties heretofore performed by the Inspector, shall be placed under the superintendence and management of the Supervisor. The gentlement who filled the offices of Surve are COL. THOMAS OVERTON, COL. D. McKIFFICK, COL. JOHN WHITAKER; and COL.
