Wake County, NC - Dr. William H. Fowler Killed, 1820 Raleigh, NC - Feb. 25 To the disgrace of our county, three persons have been killed in it within the last eight months. We have now to record the death of Dr. William H. Fowler, who was stabbed on Saturday night last at the store of Thomas Price, Esq. and expired in a few minutes after receiving the fatal wound. A jury of inquest have pronounced that Fowler came to his death by wounds inflicted by an unknown hand. Fowler and John Boddie had an affray, Fowler was stabbed, and Boddie was arrested. Boddie made his escape and has not since been heard of. So many contradictory statements having been made, we forbear to enter into further particulars.
