June 28, 1892 Raleigh, N. C., June 25.-- G. W. Johnson, of Raleigh, has returned here from the coast with his son Guy. It is the first time Mr. Johnson and the lad have met in two years. The lad left home two years ago as assistant to Book Agent John Peebles, of Baltimore, with his father's permission to work with him as far as Durham and then return, the boy being then fourteen years old. Peebles, however, refused to let him return and compelled him to go with him to Baltimore, preventing correspondence with his father and representing that Guy was a son of his own. He succeeded in gaining credence at Baltimore. He shipped the boy on a vessel bound to the West Indies in such a way as to secure for himself the wages earned and not until the return of the vessel to the United States did Guy's father get any tidings of him.
