EBENEZER BURNS, Commoner in last Legislature from Cabarrus County, N.C. to MISS ELIZABETH S., second daughter of MR. H. J. BROWN of this City. ***** At Wake Forest College on Monday, the 21st ult. by by Rev. W.M. WINGATE, Mr. PHILIP JOHNSON of Ala. formerly of Surrey County, North Carolina to Miss EMMA PUREFOY of former place. ***** Died 2 Feb. 1859 In this city on the 27th ult. EDWARD ORREN, only child of E.C. and ALICE BELVIN, aged 2 years 11 months and 2 days. ***** Died May 18, 1859 At the residence of her father, in Wake County on the 9th instant of consumption MRS. P. L. DUDLEY, wife of DAVID D. DUDLEY, printer, and daughter of WILLIAM and MARY SHAW, in the 35th year of her age. The deceased was a consistent member of the Baptist Church for the space of twenty years. As a Christian, she was adorned with all the graces necessary to fit and qualify her for the duties of the church of which she was a member; as a wife, she was gentle and kind, ever striving to please and honor her husband; as a mother she was faithful in her duties to her children in training them in the way they should go; as a neighbor, she was kind and obliging; and as a friend she was beloved by all who knew her. She has now thrown off the shackles of mortalty and burst the casket which contained that immortal jewel that was too pure to remain longer in a tenement of clay.... She leaves a husband and three small children, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. D.K. ***** Died Near Waco, Texas on the 14th March, Mr. DAVID D. FORT, aged 56 years. Mr. FORT was born near Raleigh, North Carolina. He moved to LaGrange, Ala in 1846, and thence to Texas in 1854. -- Austin Gazette ***** Died 10 Aug. 1859 Near this City, on the 3rd instant, after a lingering illness to typhoid fever, MR. NATHAN J. MYATT, a worthy and useful citizen. ***** Died July 13, 1859 In this City on the 4th instant, MRS. JANE S., wife of SAMUEL H. YOUNG, Esq. ***** In this county, at the residence of EDWARD CHAPPELL, Esq. on the 5th instant SARAH LIZZIE, infant daughter of DR. L. and Mrs. E. J. CHAPPELL of Kinston, N.C. aged 9 months and 8 days. ***** Died May 9, 1859 In this vicinity, after a long and painful illness on Friday the 1st instant MRS. MARY W. WILLIAMS, consort of CHARLES J. WILLIAMS, Esq. MRS. WILLIAMS was born and raised in Chatham; a daughter of CAPT. PHILLIP TAYLOR, of the American Revolution, and sister of JAMES F. TAYLOR, late Attorney General of this State. Amiable in all her social and domestic relations, she passed a long life, greatly beloved in the bosom of her family and died truly regretted by all who knew her. **** Died 9 March 1859 In this City, on Sunday last, MRS. SARAH MCCAULEY, after a lingering illness. She was long a member of the M.E. Church ***** May 23,m 1859 INFORMATION WANTED of SUSAN SPAIN, the daughter of JOHN PENNINGTON , Dec'd, who married JOHN W. SPAIN. She left Wake County, North Carolina aboout 1849 for Tennessee or Texas. The undersigned has a Land Warrant for her said father's services. Any information of her will be thankfully received.
