Wadesboro' "Argus," 16 March, 1850 January 8, 1850
       MISSING: WILLIAM ALLEN
   My son, WILLIAM ALLEN, left this place in the early part of 1847, and 
served in the war with Mexico, and after its close was discharged at the fort 
at Governor's Island, in the state of New York, since which time I have not 
heard from him. Any information concerning him or his whereabouts, will be 
thankfully received by a distressed mother.
