Edenton Gazette, Friday,  Dec. 28, 1810 December 28, 1810
   -- On Tuesday night, the wife of WILLIAM SEARS, in the neighborhood of the 
Fish Dam Ford, Wake County, was strangled to death. SEARS, himself, alarmed 
the neighbors and said his wife died of suffocation -- but from some hints 
dropped from his eldest son, the father has been suspected and apprehended for 
committing the deed. -- Raleigh Minerva
