The Weekly Constitution, Atlanta, Ga. June 28, 1892
Raleigh, N.C., June 20. -- Today W. R. Lindsay, chairman of the executive 
committee of the third party, issued an address in The Progressive Farmer, the 
organ of that party, in which he attacks the recent democratic state 
convention.  He says the people tried to rule in the convention.  Every effort 
was made to stifle the voice of the reformers.  The outcome was a mongrel 
compromise ticket and a catch penny platform.  Lindsay also demands that all 
candidates be pledged by letter to the St. Louis platform until the state 
platform is made.
