WOLF, notorious for his crimes, and who has been a tenant in several of the jails in the State, was arrested in Raleigh on Wednesday night by the City Guard. He was last confined in Granville jail, on a charge of horse-stealing, but he broke out of prison, and has been absent from the State ever since, about 18 months. He resisted, most desperately, the attempt of the Guard to secure him. He stabbed one of the town constables, BOBBIT, twice with a long knife, and was collecting his stength to repeat the thrust, when some one struck the knife with a stick and snapped it. -- He was then conquered and taken to the jail. We are glad to state that BOBBITT, who is one of our most fearless officers is not dangerously wounded. -- Raleigh Register File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/wake/newspapers/williaml367nw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ncfiles/ File size: 1.4 Kb
