All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Shank Carolynshank@msn.com October 29, 2008, 6:45 pm Thurs., Oct. 1, 1807, Raleigh Minerva DIED, on the 3rd instant, in the Pennsylvania Hospital, JOHN BUTLER of this State [Wake County], near Ransom’s Bridge; he was admitted for a large wen, the 11th of April last, when extracted from his cheek and neck, on the 22nd of the same month; it weighed five and a half pounds. Of this wen he was perfectly cured, and was retained iin the house about five weeks to give him an opportunity of going home, but was unfortunately arrested by the influenza, accompanied with a fever, of which he died after a week’s illness. His remains were deposited, by his own request in the Presbyterian grave yard.
