Thurs., Sept. 8, 1808
DIED, on Friday night last, JOHN CRAVEN, ESQ., Comptroller of the Treasury of 
this State, an able and faithful officer and an old public servant. On 
Thursday last on his way home, he was taken unwell with a fit of the gout in 
his stomach, at MR. ROGERS' crossroads, 10 miles north of this, where he died 
the succeeding night in the most excruciating of torture.
