Friday, April 10, 1818
DIED, on the 27th ult., at his residence in Bertie County, DR. SAMUEL GARLAND, 
formerly of Raleigh. As a Physician this young gentleman stood high in public 
estimation; and his virtues and talents gained him many friends. A wife and 
infant are left to feel most this affecting stroke.
